Cool as a Cucumber
It's time to get some background info on the coolest vegetable around!
One of the most refreshing veggies, cucumber not only helps to keep you hydrated (it's around 96% water) but it's packed with goodness too. That's why it's a key ingredient in our refreshing Gazpacho.
A staple in the summer salad, not only is the humble cucumber low in fat and calories, but it's crammed full of vitamins K, A & C, alongside potassium, magnesium, manganese and fibre too. So what do these bad boys do for you?
First up we have Vitamin K - a powerhouse when it comes to building healthier bones and aiding cognitive and heart health 💪
Next we have Vitamin A. Not only does this help with vision and aiding the immune system but it also helps make sure that your vital organs such as your heart, lungs and kidneys are working as they should 🫁
Now when it comes to Vitamin C, you're probably already aware of the benefits of this beauty (quite literally!) but it's vital for supporting healthy skin, protecting and regenerating cells to improve complexion ✨
Moving on to Potassium. This one is vital for regulating heart rate and blood pressure, helping to reduce the risk of strokes and heart disease🫀
Mighty Magnesium is next and this one is important for a whole host of different reasons including regulation of muscle and nerve function, bloody sugar levels and blood pressure. It also helps keep energy levels up which is ideal for this time of year as the days are longer and you spend more time outside ⚡
One you might not have heard so much about, the mineral, Manganese, is involved in protecting cells, keeping bones strong and supporting memory function 🧠
And finally we have Fibre. An essential found in all kinds of fruits and veg, it helps keep you gut happy, makes you feel fuller for longer, lowers blood pressure and balances cholesterol levels too 🫶
Every single one of these vitamins and minerals is integral to keeping a healthy mind and a healthy body and can be found inside our deliciously refreshing bottles of fresh Gazpacho.
